Download Help

You MUST download and NOT link to the free graphics we have provided here - store them on your hard drive and upload them on your own ISP or to some file hosting service like DropBox.  If you link to the graphics you create excessive use of our bandwidth. (Graphics are changed frequently to avoid this problem and you will be left with broken images.)  If you don't know what graphic linking means, if a line in your HTML begins with <img src = and has the name of our site, then it is linked to us, thus stealing our bandwidth.  The HTML code should have your site's name in it ONLY. Please Download any graphics you need to your own computer and upload them to your servers.

Do NOT link directly to my site.  Save the files to your own hard drive.
In order to protect my bandwidth, I will be periodically renaming all files therefore breaking any links you create by attempting to link directly to this site.

AOL Users .

AOL web browsers compress downloaded graphics to an .ART format. When you save images off web pages in the AOL browser, they stay in the .ART format even if they are named with .gif or .jpg extensions.
This means that only the MSIE Web Browsers can view these images - anyone using any other kind of browser will not be able to see them!  Some image formats (.jpg, for example) are already compressed; when the AOL browser views them, it tries to compress them even more, causing distortion, warping, or very degraded image quality.  There is no graphics program that can read or edit .ART format directly.

To download useable graphics you have three solutions: .

Turn Off Compression Feature
The following will help for the latest version of the AOL:
Select: - Members - Preferences - WWW - Web Graphics Turn off Compress Graphics ..

Use Another Browser For Downloads Install an official version of MSIE or Netscape and download in that version rather than AOL. .

If You Do Not Turn Off Compression   The third way if you do not turn off the compression is to save the graphic as a "Bitmap [*.bmp]". You can then use the image but if you want to use it on the Web, you will have to convert it to either a .gif or .jpg extension

WebTV Users

WebTV users need the "Transloader". You can find more help from the Transloader page.
Using the Transloading service, you put in the direct URL of the graphic you want and your web server FTP information and the Transloader will grab the graphic from my site and upload a copy to yours.

F.A.Q.

Why don't you want me to "link directly" to your graphics?

How do I save animations with a Mozilla Firefox browser?

How do I save animations using a Internet Explorer browser?

Can I just Copy & Paste an animation?

When I view the animation I saved it is not animated...

I linked to a few of your graphics and one day they were gone, why?

Direct linking: The more people that link to our graphics the slower our servers will be. We spend a lot of effort to maintain the speed of the servers for fast surfing and downloads but a few hundred people linking to our animations can change that in a short time.

To save animations using Mozilla Firefox: Place your mouse arrow on top of the animation or Gif that you want - click the right mouse button - a window will pop up - click "save images" with left mouse button - another window will pop up - choose the directory where you want to save the image then click "save" with left mouse button

To save animations using Internet Explorer: Place your mouse arrow on top of the animation or Gif that you want - click the right mouse button - a window will pop up - click "save picture as" with left mouse button - another window will pop up - choose the directory where you want to save the image then click "save" with left mouse button

Copy & Paste?: No, you cannot copy & paste an animation. Only one frame of the animation will be captured. Instead, use the directions above and save the image you want to your hard drive or a disk. You can copy & paste a single image static gif.

Gif is not animated: In most cases the reason an animation you saved is not animated is because of the viewer you are using. An animation cannot be viewed using a paint or photo program. View the animations you saved with your browser. Open your browser (online or off) - left click on "file" in upper left - click on "open" - locate the animation you want to view and double click on it - the animation will open in a new window and will be animated.

Graphics Gone: In order to prevent some webmasters from linking to our graphics and bogging down our servers, we rotate our gifs and animations on a regular basis so if you link directly to our images, images on your site will broke down.
